Menu Bar

The menu bar is available on each screen of the directory. It allows you to do any operation.

Menu

 Welcome displays the welcome page.
Help opens this help page.
View lets you view any card stored in the directory
Search lets you perform a full-text search
Register lets you register a new card
Update lets you update a card.
Home

lets you go back to the homepage of the server that uses "Annuaire (Directory)" software. You may also click on the logo displayed on left top of each page.
About displays a page containing information about "Annuaire (Directory)" software.

Welcome page

The welcome page lets you view :

  • a birthday reminder for this month and next month ;
  • a Saint's Day reminder for this month and next month ;
  • a fiew stats about the directory.

Viewing a card

To view a card, follow the "View" link of the menu bar. The following form is displayed.

Viewing a card

Choose the surname and first name in the list box and press the "View" button. The requested card is then displayed.

If the "City" field of a card is filled, the city is displayed after the surname and first name in the list box.

Buttons displayed under the card may be used to:

  • Copy the data to a new card ("Copy button").
  • Update the card ("Update button").
  • Delete the card ("Delete button").
  • Save the card as a VCARD 3.0 '.vcf' file ("Save VCARD file" button). This file is then usable in numerous electronic address books.

Searching the directory

Follow the menu bar "Search" link to perform a full-text search on the database. Enter one or more keywords without any quote or separator and click the "Search" button to get the list of the cards matching the keywords.

Registering a new card

To register a new card, follow the "Register" link of the menu bar. Then, fill-in the form that is displayed. You must respect the rules shown in the next table.

You are asked for a password. It is compulsory and stored in a crypted field in the database. It will be requested to allow you to update or delete the card.

Current date and IP address used to create or update a card are stored in the database.

To update a card, follow the "Update" link of the menu bar. Then, fill-in the form that is displayed.
